Gooooood Gravy, I’m blessed!
Good gravy, I’m blessed, could totally relate to Thanksgiving and that good slathering of gravy you put on your perfectly roasted turkey or lumpy yet creamy mashed potatoes. But, in this post, I’m using “good gravy” to mean, “Oh boy!,” “Holy cow!” “Oh my goodness YES!,” I’m indeed blessed.
It’s so funny when I became a mom, godmom, AuntieMom, I would start creating words to use in place of those sometimes catchy adult words we didn’t want kids to pick up on… like “dang” … which was like a cuss word in my house growing up! LOL… So, I would start mixing up silly words to describe an emotion I was feeling, but did so in a way that usually made me giggle, and the kids wonder, “What in the world is this woman talking about.”
So, “Good gravy, I’m blessed” it is! I was thinking this morning as I had some down time before the rest of the house woke up, how incredibly blessed I am. I looked around at the floor full of toys, and the christmas tree beautifully lit, and the sound of the dryer with a load full of fresh clean towels drying, and I thought… “GOOD GRAVY, I’M BLESSED!”
In this season that so many mourn the loss of loved ones, and others decorate and throw parties from December 1st through the New Year, there are so many things we have to be thankful for. Yes, in the midst of your down, sad, or grieving moments, for those who struggle with the holidays, you still have much to be thankful for.
I challenge you to take a moment to think about how blessed you are. Even if nothing more than for the air in your lungs, ask yourself, how am I blessed? I’m blessed, and thankful that you took the time to read this post. I said it at the beginning, “Good gravy, I’m blessed!” To each of you, may you have a blessed and wonderful New Year. 2018 has arrived!
